Privacy Policy

Divorce Dock Effective Date: May 1, 2026 Last Updated: May 1, 2026

A Note Before We Begin

Divorce Dock was built for people navigating one of life's most personal experiences. We take that seriously — and it shapes how we think about your privacy. This policy is written to be read, not just scrolled past. It tells you exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

If you have questions after reading it, email us at privacy@DivorceDock.com.

1. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the Divorce Dock website (divorcedock.com) and all pages, content, and products available through it. It covers information collected when you visit the site, download a free resource, or purchase a product.

It does not cover third-party websites or services that we link to. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.

2. What We Collect

We collect three categories of information:

2.1 — Your Email Address

We collect your email address when you purchase a product from Divorce Dock.

Why: To deliver what you came for — your purchase confirmation and (if you opt in) occasional product updates and content we think you'll find useful.

What we don't do: We do not sell your email address. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not give it to anyone except the services we use to deliver and manage email — and only to the extent required to do that job.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send. Unsubscribing removes you from our mailing list and we will honor that request promptly. Note that unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional emails (such as a purchase receipt) that we are obligated to send.

2.2 — Payment Information

When you purchase a product, payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Divorce Dock does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details. That information goes directly to Stripe and is handled under Stripe's own privacy and security practices.

You can review Stripe's privacy policy at: https://stripe.com/privacy

2.3 — Analytics Data (Cookies)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects information such as:

This data is aggregated and anonymous. It tells us things like "most visitors arrive via search and spend the most time on the attorney checklist page." It does not tell us who you are.

About cookies: Google Analytics works by placing a small file called a cookie on your device. A cookie is a short text file that helps a website recognize returning visitors and track basic usage patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The Divorce Dock website will still work if you do.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking directly using Google's opt-out tool at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

You can review Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

3. What We Don't Collect

We want to be direct about this. Divorce Dock does not collect:

The checklists and content you download are delivered as PDF files to your device. We do not track how you use them, what items you check off, or any notes you make.

4. How We Use Your Information

To summarize plainly:

InformationUsed For
Email addressDelivering your download or purchase; marketing emails (if opted in)
Payment dataProcessed by Stripe — not seen or stored by Divorce Dock
Analytics dataUnderstanding site traffic and improving the user experience

We do not use your information to build profiles, serve targeted ads, or sell to data brokers.

5. Third-Party Services

Divorce Dock uses two third-party services that interact with your information:

Stripe — Payment processing. Handles all credit card transactions. We do not control Stripe's data practices; their privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.

Google Analytics — Site analytics. Collects anonymized usage data via cookies. We do not control Google's data practices; their privacy policy governs how Google handles analytics data.

If we add other third-party services in the future (such as an email marketing platform), we will update this policy before those services go live.

6. Data Retention

Email addresses: We retain your email address for as long as you remain on our mailing list. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove your email from our active list promptly. Note that certain transactional records (such as records of purchases) may be retained for financial and legal recordkeeping purposes as required by law.

Transaction records: Purchase records are retained as required for financial and legal compliance, which is typically seven years under standard IRS recordkeeping guidance. Stripe retains payment transaction data under its own retention policies.

Analytics data: Google Analytics retains usage data according to the retention period configured in our account settings, after which it is automatically deleted by Google.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

For data held by Stripe or Google Analytics, requests for access or deletion should be directed to those companies under their respective privacy policies. We do not have the ability to act on those requests on your behalf.

8. Children

Divorce Dock is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@DivorceDock.com and we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold — including your email address — from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Payment data is protected by Stripe's security infrastructure, which is certified to PCI-DSS standards. We do not store payment data ourselves.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (such as by posting a notice on the site).

Your continued use of Divorce Dock after any update to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
